Technical Support Manager – N. America
Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Support Manager to be based in the US, ideally in Los Angeles, New Jersey, DC or Atlanta to support the US subsidiary of our European client. You will find an exciting opportunity to work with one of the market leaders in KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse) technology.
This is a hands-on Lone Ranger engineering position requiring you to personally perform a number of technical tasks and duties, including traditional technical product support for sales staff and customers.
You will
- Manage and personally perform all technical and engineering operations in North America
- Assist sales team to close sales by providing high level technical pre-sales support
- Give product presentations and benefits on KVM solutions
- Organize technical operations and prompt support to be cost effective
- Manage customer support (pre-/post-sales, field support, training)
- Deal with support tickets and warranties
- Install, commission and support KVM systems for clients
- Handle IT/IP efforts, including software updates, pre/post deliveries, office PC and IT support
- Manage hardware and software product inventory in North America
- Deliver technical services, troubleshooting and repairs as required
- Create pre-sales system designs in support of sales staff as required
- Provide technical services at trade shows, demos & events
You need
- 5+ years’ relevant sales support experience such as Field Application Engineer
- Expertise in KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse), KVM extenders, KVM switches and KVM matrix systems used in mission-critical applications
- Willingness to travel as needed and when safe (typically 50% across N. America)
- Experience with ticket and tracking systems (ITSM) such as OTRS or JIRA
- Good understanding of Linux, IP and Networking
- Knowledge of Apple & MS Office products (Word / Excel / Outlook / PowerPoint)
- Experience using VISIO/Auto-CAD to create technical drawings
- Passport to allow travel to Germany for training
- Fluency in English, fluent Spanish is desired
