Technical Account Director, Canada – Pay TV & Broadband Operators

Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing software company based in Europe that provides OTT, Pay TV, digital services and connectivity for a carriers devices at home. By embedding the software in Gateways/routers and set top boxes (STBs), the operator can compete against regional and international players by leveraging the ecosystem to deliver outstanding services. The solutions are deployed with major operators globally in almost 20 countries.

The company has met most of the operators in Canada the last three years and now need a Technical Account Director locally (preferably in Toronto) to continue the dialogue with the carriers. The role is a combination of Presales, Sales and Business Development.

You will

  • report to the Global VP of Sales
  • present the client’s product to the operators
  • set-up demos and demonstrate the product
  • regularly meeting the operators and present the client’s solutions
  • need to understand the technical requirements of the customer and present the technical solutions that meet the customer needs
  • participate in answering RFPs or making commercial proposals
  • develop a good relationship with the operators and listen to the market
  • also develop a good level of relationships with potential partners such as manufacturers, VARs and solution integrators (SIs)

You need

  • 10+ years’ experience working with cable and fixed operators in a sales/presales capacity
  • 7+ years’ technical experience and knowledge of home gateways
  • 1+ years’ technical knowledge of STBs used by operators, provided by manufacturers, chipset vendors, and software companies
  • experience in presales with good ability to help close sales
  • good contacts (technical to CTO) with operators in Canada
  • the ability to work remotely from home and independently from HQ
  • Canadian citizenship
  • to be results oriented
