Business Development Manager, Hong Kong – Big Data Analytics

Location: Hong Kong

Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing VC backed European big data analytics company that uses human and social data to produce customer insights.

In this role, you will be responsible for working with key business leaders, and be expected to solidify and develop the strategic position with clients and partners. You also need to have an eye for future sales opportunities and work to coordinate the development and execution of these.

Having sales experience in the Smart City, Travel, Transport and Smart City sector would be a big bonus!

You will

  • develop use cases and opportunities through to completion of commercial contracts
  • co-ordinate and track the execution of complex strategic initiatives across multiple business units
  • grow your knowledge of the data analytics industry and act as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) in support of partners throughout the business development lifecycle
  • develop relationships with people across multiple organisations, functions and levels
  • be unfazed by ambiguity and be highly-capable even in a domain where you may possess less experience than others
  • assist in international business expansion
  • take accountability for driving new business directly and for the management of the overall business development activity

You need

  • 3+ years’ technology sales experience
  • track record of having revenue targets either directly or through channels and other partners (e.g. SIs)
  • experience structuring, negotiating and managing complex sales, partnerships and commercial agreements
  • to be based in Hong Kong with frequent travel to Asia HQ in Singapore and other parts of Asia as the business grows
  • ability to develop and communicate a strategic vision to clients and drive consultative sales processes
  • to be fluent in English
  • the ability to work independently in a fast paced startup environment
  • to ideally have experience in mobile telecom, geo location, geo fencing, or analytics (data, location, or mobile) solutions
  • to ideally have sales experience in the Travel, Transport or Smart City sector
