As a Technical Consultant you will be responsible for the customisations and integration of our products. The position is customer facing and requires ability to quickly understand customer needs, translate them into solutions and then carry out the implementation as needed. You will be part of the Professional Services (PS) team and will be the main technical interface during the lifecycle of the customer engagement.
You will…
- be responsible for customisation and integration of:
- simple user interface changes
- complex web-services based integrations with external systems such as CRM or authentication providers
- guide internal and external stakeholders on the best possible course of action
- implement the chosen solution when a certain business need surfaces
- deliver services to sound technical, business and professional standards while ensuring strong customer satisfaction and success
- provide technical design and construction expertise to customer implementations & deployments
- help scope projects and write Statements of Work (SOW)
- schedule and deliver code on time with minimal defects
- research and follow up on technical issues related to projects
- inform, communicate and train colleagues
- document functional and technical specifications of the proposed solution
- contribute to constant improvement of our project management practices
You need…
- a university degree in CS or EE from a reputable University
- 5+ years software consulting experience (implementing enterprise software solutions for customers) including direct customer contact
- experience with PS project lifecycle (scoping, requirements, construction, QA/test)
- experience with web technologies and in particular web services APIs
- 3+ years of experience in at least two of the following domains:
- J2EE (Java, JSP, Servlets) with one of the following application servers
- Mysql Database (knowledge of database design and schemas)
- HTML, CSS, DHTML, JavaScript (including UI libraries, functional objects, state machines)
- networking knowledge (TCP/IP, SSL, HTTP, Routing, etc)
- experience with three of the following domains:
- MVC frameworks (Struts, Velocity or similar)
- Linux
- Apache
- Source control systems
- Fluent English
- Moderation and/or Management of online communities experience a plus
- Each additional European language is a plus
- Excellent problem solving skills
